TOLEDO, Jan. 18, 2024: The Lucas County Department of Planning and Development, Lucas County Job & Family Services, and OhioMeansJobs Lucas County will host a resource and job fair on February 2 to showcase community services and employment opportunities for local residents, especially those impacted by layoffs in the local manufacturing sector. The January 19th job fair was a success.

Both events are sponsored by Clarios, a supplier for Jeep.

The job fair will take place on Friday, February 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lucas County Shared Services Building located at 3737 W. Sylvania Ave. in Toledo. Early entrance for workers affected by layoffs will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will be able to access the event at Entrance B.

The fair will allow individuals the opportunity to meet and apply with many employers at one location, as over 30 businesses and agencies have registered. The following employers, agencies, and companies are scheduled to be present:

Attendees should bring copies of their résumé and know their employment history, dates, and references, to complete employment applications. The computer lab in the Shared Services Building will be available to job seekers who need to print copies of their resume.

Event attendees can connect to a number of resources to receive information and assistance on housing, utilities, healthcare, childcare, food, transportation services, and employment services. Among the local and state organizations and social service agencies participating are:
