WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH READING FLASH MOB: Join CPL in kicking off Cleveland Public Library’s Women’s History Month Reading Challenge with a Flash Mob at the West Side Market on Saturday, March 9 at noon. Readers of all levels and ages are invited to grab a free book or bring their own and read collectively for 5-10 minutes in this celebration of books like no other. WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH READING CHALLENGE: Log your minutes and complete activities for a chance to earn badges and prizes throughout the challenge. MENSTRUAL EQUITY INITIATIVE: Cleveland Public Library launches its Menstrual Equity initiative, making menstrual products free and accessible to library patrons in need. Menstrual Equity refers to the right for people who menstruate to have equal access to hygiene products. TOTE BAG PRINTMAKING: Join Zygote Press for a free, hands-on printmaking workshop where you will learn how to create your own tote bag and posters inspired by Rebecca Louise Law’s exhibit, The Archive. Under the guidance of experienced printmakers, you’ll have the unique opportunity to print with original designs by Zygote Press artists. WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP: Celebrate the contributions of women around the world and learn about current gender issues on Wednesday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. at the Fulton Campus. BEATS AND LYRICS: Learn about women of the past and present through music on Tuesday, March 12 at 4 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Campus. Discuss how women are celebrated and championed throughout history with Beats and Lyrics, a multigenerational program bridging gaps between history, heritage, linguistics, and societal relevance.
