Columbus Recreation and Parks Department announced today its slate of summer concerts for 2024, including the 43rd edition of Jazz & Rib Fest, Sundays With The Symphony, Cap City Festivals and Bicentennial Park Concert Series.
“When our community members think of summer in Columbus, they think of the high-quality festivals and concerts such as Jazz & Rib Fest that they’ve come to know and love,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “Year after year, we continue to enhance these events to improve the experience for residents and visitors, who enjoy these free events at the beautiful parks and locations our City has to offer. We can’t wait to see everyone at our events this summer!”
The 2024 Columbus Recreation and Parks summer festival lineup includes:
Jazz & Rib Fest: Jazz & Rib Fest, which draws over 200,000 people to downtown Columbus, returns July 19-21 along the Scioto Mile downtown riverfront. The FREE festival offers a diverse lineup of more than 40 artists for all audiences to enjoy. Headlining performances include:
- Friday, July 19: Nicholas Payton and The Brian McKnight 4
- Saturday, July 20: Musiq Soulchild and Pedrito Martinez Group
- Sunday, July 21: Regina Belle and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
The festival will feature 17 BBQ vendors and over 25 alternatives to BBQ including vegetarian and vegan options. Beverage options include beer from Jackie O’s, Fling Craft Cocktails, Vinette Wine and Pepsi products.

Cap City Festivals: For over a decade, the Cap City Festivals have brought free entertainment, activities, resources and food into community parks throughout Columbus. The festivals are May – August and feature complimentary food and live music performances from Sonicc Blush, Whitney Taylor Ray and DrippDaDon & The Vibrationz feat. The Ft. Hayes All Stars. Sundays With The Symphony: In partnership with the Columbus Symphony, Sundays With The Symphony offers Columbus residents the opportunity to enjoy free symphony concerts in their neighborhood. These concerts feature family-friendly symphonic music, led by conductor Luis Biava. The one-hour concerts on select Sundays will have complimentary Johnson’s Real Ice Cream while supplies last.
