Art by Iconic Artists Norman Rockwell, Bob Thompson, Lois Dodd, Robert De Niro Sr., Mark di Suvero, and Salvador Dali on Display with the Most Art Under One Roof at ArtPrize 2024.

Grand Rapids – The AllArtWorks Foundation is pleased to announce an unprecedented showcase of artistic talent, bringing together 700 works of art, including work by world-renowned artists, at AllArt: Grand Rapids. This unique event marks a historic moment in Grand Rapids as it gathers a large collection of masterpieces, side by side with hundreds of up-and-coming artists at DeVos Place.

AllArt: Grand Rapids, from September 20 to September 22, will be the biggest art gallery in the Midwest, featuring 50,000 square feet filled with art, a walkable sculpture garden, live performances, and indoor beer garden with a view of the Grand River. A particularly unique offering at AllArt: Grand Rapids is the opportunity to see (and purchase) work by some of the most accomplished artists in history, including work by:

Norman Rockwell is famous for paintings that defined Americana throughout the first half of the 20th century. He is also renowned for paintings like Rosie the Riveter (1943) and The Problem We All Live With (1964) depicting a six-year-old Ruby Bridges being guarded on her way to school.

Bob Thompson’s brief but prolific career is often celebrated for his ability to integrate the African American experience into broader art narratives. His contemporary style earned him acclaim across the country particularly in New York and Detroit where he famously showed in 1965.

Lois Dodd is known for her role in shaping American modern art as a painter, educator, and gallery founder. Her paintings depict simple things–landscapes, old farmhouses, or a towel on the line–having found beauty in them while exploring the coast of Maine.

Robert De Niro Sr. is counted among the great abstract expressionists, his work being prominently displayed in museums around the country for the last 80 years. De Niro Sr. lived as an openly gay man as early as the 1940s and is the father of famous actor Robert De Niro.

Mark di Suvero’s work can be seen at Calder Plaza alongside La Grande Vitesse. One of the most prominent American sculpture artists of the last century, di Suvero received the National Medal of Arts in 2010 and his large installations are found in cities all over the United States.

Salvador Dali is one of the most famous artists to have lived in the last century. His surrealist work is recognizable all over the world, to experienced art collectors and casual enjoyers alike. His work was last displayed in Grand Rapids during a special exhibition at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2023.

“Displaying these artists’ work in Grand Rapids is an honor for the AllArtWorks Foundation,” John Fenton, executive director, AllArtWorks Foundation. “The opportunity to see their work alongside artwork by hundreds of the best up-and-coming contemporary artists will showcase a broad depth of talent rarely on display in a setting like AllArt: Grand Rapids.”

See work by these artists and 700 other works daily, 11AM to 11PM, September 20 through 22 at DeVos Place. Discounted early bird tickets are available now at allartworks.com.
