TOLEDO, OH: On Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, the Lucas County Commissioners presented Zepf Center Youth Services with a proclamation to recognize November as Youth Homelessness, Outreach, Prevention, and Education (HOPE) Month.

Throughout the month of November, Zepf Center’s Safety Net team is working diligently to illuminate the experiences of runaway and homeless youth in our area and raise awareness for local resources.

The only shelter of its kind in Northwest Ohio, Safety Net provides 24/7/365 emergency shelter, counseling services, and care coordination for youth experiencing homelessness. During Youth HOPE Month, the Youth Services team will host community education events, share resources on Zepf Center social media, and host awareness events for staff and clients.

“Recognition from the Lucas County Commissioners further emphasizes the importance of raising awareness for runaway and homeless youth,” said Zepf Center CEO Deb Flores. “This is a time for us not only to shine a light on the issue but also on the resources available for those in our community.”

In addition to Safety Net, Zepf Center provides a wide range of youth mental health and crisis services. Through its trauma-informed, person-centered care model, Zepf Center remains dedicated to creating hope and recovery throughout Northwest Ohio.
