Celebrate winter with art activities, glass blowing demonstrations, flashlight tours and live performances.

TOLEDO, Ohio, December 6, 2024: The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) invites everyone to celebrate the winter holidays during its annual Great Art Escape, running Dec. 27-29. The family friendly event offers winter-themed art activities, flashlight tours in the Green Building, glassblowing demonstrations in the Glass Pavilion, and live performances by the Bowling Green State University Collegiate Chorale, Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra, and saxophonist Mike Williams.

Programming highlights include:

  • Drawing sessions led by instructors in the inspirational TMA galleries.
  • Exclusive docent-led flashlight tours of the museum after dark.
  • Winter-themed art projects for all ages in the Family Center.
  • Storytime in the galleries, hosted by TMA librarians.
  • Whimsical glassblowing demonstrations inspired by favorite childhood stories.
  • A quiet, sensory-friendly area with fidget toys, comfortable seating, ear plugs, noise-cancelling headphones, and weighted lap pads.
  • Additional activities, such as cookie decorating, Frozen and Frozen 2 movie showings, date-night sip-and-paint sessions, scavenger hunts, sock skating, and superhero tours.
