On Saturday, May 3, 2025, people from Northwest Ohio and the University of Michigan gathered for the Farm Labor Organizing Committee’s (FLOC) peaceful March & Rally for Immigration Reform in South Toledo. The group gathered with their poster boards, waving their red FLOC flags, and chanting in support of immigration reform and immigrants. President of FLOC, Baldemar Velasquez lead the march and Father Notter prayed over the gathering as he has many times in the past. President Velasquez shared with me that Father Notter has been involved with the Latinx community and this movement since he (Velasquez) was first arrested during the Campbell Soup Company boycott of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
El sábado 3 de mayo de 2025, personas del noroeste de Ohio y de la Universidad de Michigan se reunieron en el sur de Toledo para una Marcha pacífica por la Reforma Migratoria del Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC). El grupo se reunió con sus pósters, sus banderas rojas del FLOC, y coreando en apoyo a la reforma migratoria y a los inmigrantes. El presidente del FLOC, Baldemar Velásquez, estaba al frente de la marcha y el Padre Notter oró por la reunión, como lo ha hecho en muchas ocasiones. El presidente Velásquez me contó que el Padre Notter ha estado involucrado con la comunidad latina y este movimiento desde que él (Velásquez) fue arrestado por primera vez durante el boicot de la Compañía Campbell Soup en los años setenta y ochentas.
