KALAMAZOO, MI, May 14, 2025: Gryphon Place is proud to announce that it has been awarded a 2025 Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). The Bell Seal is the nation’s preeminent certification, recognizing employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces.
MHA is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health, well-being, and illness prevention for all. MHA has spent decades researching mental health in the workplace and introduced the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health in 2019 to recognize organizations that value and implement policies and practices that support employee mental health and well-being.
The Bell Seal recognizes employer advances in workplace mental health by awarding Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum recognition. Only two in five employers meet the standards for Bell Seal certification. Gryphon Place underwent a rigorous evaluation of its policies and practices in four areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs.
Gaining status as a Bell Seal recipient demonstrates Gryphon Place’s ongoing commitment to employee mental health and well-being. Our work in professional development opportunities for staff, competitive mental-health friendly benefits package, and a committement to work-life balance served to determine our Gold certification.
“We are proud to be awarded the Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health,” said Maricela Alacala, CEO. “This was a team effort, with staff across the organization sharing feedback and suggestions to help shape a workplace that supports well-being. We hope other nonprofits and businesses in the area will apply next year.”
Gryphon Place is committed to providing the best for its employees and looks forward to continuing work to ensure they uphold the standards the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health set forth.
