Jose Guadalupe Cordero, 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Brownsville, Texas, on February 27, 1949, to Aurelio and Maria Luz (Salazar) Cordero. On May 20, 1967, he married the love of his life, Consuelo Cecilia (Elizondo). Jose started his career at Shirwin Metal for several years but eventually became a self-employed autobody repairman. Many knew him as “Bondo Joe.” Jose had a passion for cooking, whether it was tamales or burritos, and he then became known as “Taco Joe” to those individuals who would buy his food. He enjoyed working in his flower garden, going to auctions, and watching Western movies. He loved fishing, camping, and riding his bike with his great-grandchildren. Faith and family were the foundation on which Jose lived by and his life and legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jose is survived by his wife of 58 years, Connie; children, Raquel Cordero, Cecilia (Rafael) Lozano; grandchildren, Timothy (Jenny) Gonzales, Cecilia Gonzales, Thomas (Salina) Gonzales, Javier (Rebel) Gonzales, Angel Cordero; Cali Daniels; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jose (Sharon) Cordero, Olga Moreno, Gerarda “Gerri” Garcia, Hilda (Terry) Cordero-Goodman, Maria L. Sifuentes, Mario (Juanita) Cordero, Aurelio (Sylvia) Cordero, Walter (Lily) Cordero, Gloria (Dennis) Dailey, Irma (Tom) Kennedy -Lewis, and “Hector” (Leah) Emeterio Cordero. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Albert Elizondo; brothers-in-law, James Carter, Terry Goodman, and Ruben Garcia.
