CLEVELAND, January 28, 2026: Esperanza, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Zulayka “Zully” Ruiz-Barral M.Ed. as Interim Leader, as the organization launches a national search for the next CEO.
“Zully’s deep institutional knowledge and unwavering commitment to Esperanza’s mission make her the ideal leader during this transition,” said Pam Hobe, Esperanza Board President. “We are confident she will provide stability and continued progress as we actively search for Esperanza’s next CEO.”
Zully joined Esperanza in 2010 as a Family Engagement Coordinator, progressing to serve as Director of Programs, leading nationally recognized, award-winning programs to improve educational outcomes for learners of all levels.
The board has engaged Koya Partners, a national leader in conducting nonprofit executive searches, to launch a comprehensive search for Esperanza’s next CEO. In the meantime, Esperanza, through its Staff, Directors, and Board members, remains strong and deeply committed to its mission of serving the Northeast Ohio Hispanic/Latino and needs-based communities, and will continue its work without interruption.
The Board of Directors thanks former CEO Margaret Sanchez for her service and contributions during her tenure and wishes her success in her future endeavors.
