The New Economy Initiative (NEI) and City Institute are hosting their next Small Business Social Hour on Thursday, March 26, 2026, connecting Southeast Michigan entrepreneurs, small business owners, and ecosystem supporters in a casual setting to mix, mingle, and move their businesses forward.

Each month highlights a different neighborhood or business corridor; this edition will spotlight The Villages, offering a chance to meet local business owners, explore their products and services, and hear directly from support organizations like Jefferson East, Inc.

The event includes:

Light programming (5:30–6:30 p.m.): Entrepreneurs present themselves and their businesses, and local vendors and support organizations share resources.

Networking opportunities: Meet fellow business owners and ecosystem supporters while enjoying food and refreshments from local businesses.

Neighborhood spotlight: Learn more about The Villages’ growing business community.

Jefferson East, Inc. is the collaborating organization for the event.

This is an opportunity to see Southeast Michigan’s small business ecosystem, community-building efforts, and the vibrant entrepreneurs shaping local neighborhoods.
