The Fair Housing Center of Southeast and Mid Michigan will host its 13th Annual Fair Housing Breakfast at Weber’s Boutique Hotel, 3050 Jackson Avenue in Ann Arbor, with a virtual option available via Zoom.
The annual event is a benefit supporting the Fair Housing Center’s mission to end discrimination in housing and public accommodations and promote accessible, integrated communities.
This year’s guest speaker is Laura Arce, Senior Vice President for Economic Initiatives at UnidosUS, who will discuss Hispanic homeownership, fair housing, and current housing trends.
The event will also recognize Jim Schaafsma, Housing Attorney with the Michigan Poverty Law Program, as the recipient of the Mark Mitshkun Board of Directors Award. Schaafsma is being honored for his ongoing work advancing protections for tenants, as well as his decades of supporting and training tenant advocates and attorneys throughout Michigan.
Real estate professionals can earn one Fair Housing continuing education (CE) credit for attending. To receive credit, participants must sign in at the event using their real estate license number.
