LORAIN COUNTY: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Lorain County will be hosting their Basics educational class beginning Thursday, September 13th and ending Thursday October 19th from 6pm to 8:30pm at the NAMI of Lorain County office, 6125 S. Broadway, Lorain OH 44052. The class will also be available virtually via ZOOM.
NAMI Basics is a weekly 6-session education program for parents, caregivers and other loved ones who provide care for minor children who are experiencing mental health symptoms. This program is free to participants, 99% of whom say they would recommend the program to others.
This course is taught by a trained team with lived experience in raising a child with a mental health condition. They know what you’re going through because they’ve been there too. To register or inquire call NAMI Lorain County at 440-240-8477 or email office@nami-lc.org.
NAMI Basics not only provides information and strategies for taking care of the person you love, but you’ll also find out that you are not alone. The group setting of NAMI Basics provides mutual support and shared positive impact experiences, compassion and reinforcement from people who understand your situation. Sharing your own experience may help others in your class.
