Domingo G. Ponce, 72, of Toledo, transitioned on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at his mother’s home in Tilaco, Queretaro, México. Mingo was born on Saturday August 4th, 1951 in México to Eusebia García Olguin and José Matias Ponce Chávez and had five brothers and four sisters.
As an immigrant from México, he found his way to the ‘US-American Dream.’ Mingo lived his life to the fullest and loved his family and friends.
On December 3rd, 1983 Mingo found the love of his life and married Anna María López Ponce in Toledo where they had a happy and fulfilling life in the Old South End of Toledo. They had one son together, Matias Ponce. Prior to finding Anna, he had three children: María Concepción Ponce Trejo, Irene and husband Alex Cortes and Domingo Graham.
Mingo loved his action movies and sports; his favorite football teams were Ohio State and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved boxing and soccer. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church and a member of United Steel Workers of America. He worked at Martin Marietta in Woodville, OH and retired after 35 years. Mingo also loved his music; his favorite genres were Country, Classic Rock, Rancheros, Tejano, Huapango and one of is all time songs was “Seven Spanish Angels” by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles.
