January 26, 1942 to January 3, 2024

Lily Pecina López, age 81, of Toledo passed away at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.  She was born on January 26, 1942, in San Marcos, TX to Leopoldo and Refujia (SanMiguel) Pecina Sr.

Throughout her life, Lily worked for St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Hunt’s Canning Factory, Bettinger’s Greenhouse, and for CJ Snyder.  She was also a former president of Latin United.  Lily enjoyed creating fun crafts and sewing.  She loved listening to music, dancing, and traveling with her late husband, Juventino.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, who cherished time with family and friends.  Lily was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

Lily is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Sánchez, Christina (David) Gonzáles, Joanne (Rubén Rodríguez) Garza, Lily Ann López-Wahl and Estrella López; sons, David (Heidi), Juventino III (Jennifer), and Alfred (Crystal) López, Ronald Ramos, Thomas, Jason, and José López; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her siblings, Esther (Juan) Dioncio, Refujia Pecina, Marcos (Lucy) Pecina, Angelo Pecina (Mary Vásquez), and Pablo Pecina.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Refujia Pecina; loving husband of 62 years, Juventino F. López; sons, Randolph López Sr., and Alejandro “Alex” López; granddaughter, Serena Hernández; grandsons, Stefan Salo and Michael López; and brothers, Robert, Frank, Ralph, Leopoldo Jr., Andrés, and Magdaleno.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 10 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.  Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Sts. Adalbert and Hedwig Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
