The MultiFaith Council of Northwest Ohio has an annual summer tradition of picnicking together at the beautiful pavilion at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo in Perrysburg. This year’s Annual Picnic, to be held on August 11, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm,  is a potluck, though everyone is welcome whether they bring a dish or not.

In addition to the potluck meal, this event will include a non-sectarian Back-to-School blessing for students of all ages as well as teachers. Additionally, several groups within the MultiFaith Council and partner organizations will be present to invite participants to upcoming events and answer questions. After a brief update from the MFC contractors about upcoming initiatives, there will also be time for sports, crafts, and even tours of the mosque.

“A central practice of the MultiFaith Council over the years has been “mingling and chatting,”” says MFC Executive Director, Jennifer Vasquez. “We are continuing in that tradition with our Annual Picnic, while adding in additional activities to invite even more people in to the work of the MFC.”

The free event is open to people of all faiths or no faith and has activities for all ages. RSVP’s are requested at bit.ly/MFCPicnic24.
