It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Raúl (Rudy) Guardiola. Ninety-four years is a long life lived, and yet we wished him many more birthdays so that he could enjoy the things that he loved.

Things that he loved, his children, fishing, gardening, the Cleveland Indians — Guardians, Tejano music, and in his younger days, dancing to fast Tejano polkas. We know that he is already reunited with his loved ones who have passed before him, his parents; our mother, (Diamintina); his two sons, (Rudy and James); his daughter, (Gloria); and recently, his grandchild, (Frank). We know that Frank has already shown him the most wonderful fishing spot.

Raúl was born on April 1, 1928, in Robstown, Texas to Pablo Guardiola and Simona Sánchez. He has seven siblings. Raúl married Diamintina Montalvo-Martinez, and they have eight children, Alicia Geyer (Charles), John Guardiola (Marina), Gloria Mikolajczak (Don), María Guardiola, Rudy Guardiola (Linda), Eleanor Villagomez (Frank), Esther Guardiola (Ramón Pérez), and James Guardiola.

Raúl has numerous grandchildren, Carissa Guardiola, Jeremy Geyer, Adelina Richardson, Brandon Ruiz, Vanessa Streeter, Frank Villagomez, Jr., Katrina Guardiola, Kristina Guardiola, Manuel Villagomez, Ashlee Salazar, Alexander Guardiola, Jesse Guardiola, Matthew Guardiola, Angelica Guardiola, and Miguel Guardiola. Raúl also has many great-grandchildren.

Interment services were on August 9th, 2022, in Resurrection Cemetery.
