EAST LANSING, MI, December 29, 2022: The Indiana Hoosiers arrived at the Breslin Center with confidence and swagger, having won 12 in a row and ranked 4th in the nation.  The home team Spartans were coming off a great win themselves, having put on a recent 98 point scoring display themselves and were well prepared for their opponent.  Kamaria McDaniel,  Guard (#5) had another great game, scoring 24 and leading the Spartans to a 83-78 win.

The Spartans display of hustle was seen on both sides of the court, as they created chaos and had 13 steals in the game.  DeeDee Hagemann, Guard (#0), led the team with 5 steals and 8 assists, while scoring 15.  Taiyier Parks, Forward (#14) led the team with 8 rebounds, 5 of them defensive.

The double-double prowess of Mackenzie Holmes, Forward (#54) continued as the Hoosier led all in scoring with 32 points and pulling down a game high 12 rebounds.  Yarden Garzon, Guard (#12) contributed 17 points and Chloe Moore-McNeil, Guard (#22) had 7  assists for the visiting team.

With the start of the Big Ten season underway, MSU is 1-2 in conference play and 2.5 games behind 1st place Ohio State (15-0).  Indiana sits at second place and is one game behind the league leader.
