Bowling Green State University will host the 27th Latino/a/x Issues Conference on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023. The conference will showcase presentations by students and community members related to the theme “we are multitudes” which aims to expand beyond limited representations of Latino/a/xs. Haitian-Panamanian filmmaker, artist, and author Michèle Stephenson will serve as the keynote speaker. Director of Emmy nominated American Promise (2013) and Stateless/Apátrida (2020), Stephenson blends visual storytelling with personal narratives to tell complex stories about Black communities across the Americas. We will also be screening Stateless on Tuesday, March 14th at 6:00pm in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Theater.
