Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked ham (6–8 lb / 2.7–3.6 kg)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard (or Dijon for a sharper flavor)
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple rings
  • Maraschino cherries (8–12 cherries)
  • Toothpicks (optional, for securing fruit)

 

Instructions

1    Make the Glaze

◦    In a bowl, whisk together:

▪    1 cup pineapple juice

▪    1 cup brown sugar

▪    2 Tbsp mustard

 

2    Prepare the Ham

◦    If not pre-sliced, score the top in a diamond pattern.

◦    Arrange pineapple rings over the ham and place a cherry in the center of each. Secure with toothpicks.

 

3    Bake the Ham

◦    Pour the glaze over the ham.

◦    Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 1½–2 hours, basting occasionally.

 

4    Reduce the Sauce

◦    Pour the pan juices into a saucepan.

◦    Simmer until thickened, 5–10 minutes.

◦    Brush the reduced glaze over the ham before serving.
